John P. Miller has focused his practice on business law with an emphasis on tax-related issues. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, formation of business organizations and their restructuring. Because of his strong business background, many of his clients are closely held corporations and their owners. Mr. Miller shares his expertise by speaking to business groups about tax and other commercial law subjects and by serving on the boards of numerous corporations and organizations. At Marquette, Mr. Miller was granted membership to Alpha Sigma Nu and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies. Mr. Miller graduated magnu cum laude from Marquette University and cum laude from its law school where he served on the Board of Editors of the Law Review. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and served as Chairman of the Interprofessional Committee. He also has served as a representative to the Internal Revenue Service Regional Commissioners's Liaison Committee. He has been president of the Professional Institute of Tax Study since 1978. Mr. Miller is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and California state courts, U.S. Tax Courts, U.S. Court of Claims and federal courts.
